European Vaccines Hub Presented at Nordic Event on Strengthening the Vaccine R&D and Manufacturing Ecosystem. Stockholm, Sweden — 2–3 December 2025

The European Vaccines Hub (EVH) was presented at the international event “Strengthening the Nordic Vaccine R&D and Manufacturing Ecosystem”, a meeting dedicated to enhancing pandemic preparedness and bolstering vaccine capabilities across the Nordic region.

The event was jointly hosted by the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) – Europe Regional Office, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), and the Novo Nordisk Foundation Initiative for Vaccines and Immunity (NIVI). It brought together scientific leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss strategic approaches for improving regional and European resilience in vaccine research, development, and production.

EVH Contribution to the Nordic Dialogue
During the session “Nordic Vaccine Ecosystem: Capabilities, Bridging Gaps, and Strengthening Capacity for Pandemic Preparedness”, EVH Project Coordinator Prof. Rino Rappuoli took part in the panel discussion “Unifying Nordic Strengths and Linking to the European and Global Initiatives”, moderated by Dr. Anders Nordström.

Prof. Rappuoli’s contribution focused on:

  • Presenting existing European initiatives supporting vaccine development and preparedness.
  • Highlighting opportunities for alignment between Nordic efforts and broader EU strategies.

This exchange underscored the importance of coordinated action across regions to address capability gaps and reinforce Europe’s collective readiness for future health threats.

Advancing Collaboration Across Europe
The participation of EVH in this Nordic initiative represents an important step toward strengthening cooperation in vaccine R&D and manufacturing. It supports EVH’s mission to promote innovation, foster cross-border partnerships, and enhance Europe’s capacity to respond to emerging infectious diseases.

By engaging with Nordic Partners and aligning with European and global preparedness frameworks, EVH continues to contribute to building a resilient and interconnected vaccine ecosystem.
