EVH and Vaccines Europe explore collaboration on public–private partnerships for pandemic preparedness

The European Vaccines Hub (EVH) held a dedicated exchange with Vaccines Europe to explore opportunities for collaboration in the context of public–private partnerships (PPPs) supporting pandemic preparedness.

The meeting provided an opportunity to present the EVH governance structure and to discuss key challenges in PPP collaboration, including coordination across different institutional frameworks and the complexity of aligning diverse stakeholders.

Vaccines Europe shared best practices for effective engagement in multi-stakeholder initiatives, highlighting the importance of early involvement, transparency and clearly defined objectives to support successful collaboration between public and private actors.

The discussion also underlined the need to identify concrete areas of interaction between EVH and Vaccines Europe, particularly in domains of shared relevance for both the EVH network and the pharmaceutical industry.

Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of maintaining a regular and structured dialogue, with the intention to establish recurring exchanges and, where relevant, dedicated interactions focused on specific areas of work.

The development of a joint work plan was identified as a key next step to structure future collaboration and ensure alignment between partners.
