EVH WP12 organized its first workshop on the harmonisation of immunological assays across EVH laboratories
The European Vaccines Hub (EVH) Work Package (WP)12 held its first workshop on 27 February 2026 in Brussels, bringing together laboratory teams from across the EVH network and collaborating institutions. Participants included representatives from WP12 laboratories in University of Siena (Siena, Italy), Institut Pasteur (Paris, France), Helmholtz Center Munich, Ludwig-Maximilian University Hospital and University of Tübingen (Munich, Germany) and Université libre de Bruxelles (Brussels, Belgium), alongside external collaborators from Bergen and Rotterdam.
WP12 on “Vaccine Immunology”, led by Université libre de Bruxelles, focuses on the harmonisation of immunological assays and the coordination of laboratory activities, with the objective of ensuring comparability and interoperability of data generated across EVH sites.
The workshop addressed two main areas. The first was the definition of a target product profile for immunoassays measuring both humoral and cellular immune responses, including antibody titres and T cell activity, to support standardised implementation across the EVH laboratory network.
The second area focused on the alignment of sample analysis strategies for the ongoing vaccine trial of Seqirus candidate conducted within EVH and by partner institutions, building on data generated in previous studies across The Netherlands and Finland.
The workshop successfully advanced the definition and coordination of activities within EVH laboratories and strengthened collaboration across the wider EVH network.
